The Company

Dispute Solutions was established in 1994 to provide professional dispute resolution and problem solving services to individuals, businesses, families and organisations of all types and sizes.  The business was incorporated as Dispute Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 19833-605-578) in 1996.

Our clients come to us with disputes, conflicts or problems they haven't been able to solve by themselves, or with the help of their advisers.   Many of their problems are deeply entrenched, complex and burdened with long histories.  Some are emotionally charged, others are purely commercial.

Dispute Solutions was established with a single objective:  to be the very best provider of quality solutions for disputes, conflicts and other problems.  Back in 1994 we based our core beliefs and values, and our business proposition, on over fifteen years' experience of working as professional advisers to individuals, businesses and organisations of all types and sizes.

Having worked closely with a wide range of clients and their advisers in many challenging situations we were convinced that conventional professional responses often delivered sub-optimal outcomes.

To this day we maintain our beliefs and values and our original objective.   Together these have given us, and have helped us to maintain, a leading position in the dispute resolution profession.

Our Approach

Because, by its nature, it is difficult to work with conflict, we have always committed to certain values, attitudes and core skills when delivering our processes.

These include:

  • Listening - above all we listen and ask questions.  We don't begin to work on responses, much less solutions, until confident that we understand what each assignment is really about and what the parties' core needs and interests are.
  • Rational Positivism (ie: constructive and considered hope!) - in even the most hopeless looking cases, we can usually locate and expand the possibility of developing positive outcomes into acceptable solutions.  Because we have been doing this so successfully for such a long time for so many individuals and organisations, we have the confidence and conviction required to inspire parties to keep trying - sometimes long after all hope seems to be lost.

And we offer:

  • Flexibility:  An open approach that results form having high levels of knowledge, experience and skill in most types of dispute resolution process.  We constantly monitor the dynamics and progress of our dispute resolution assignments and, whenever circumstances demand, willingly change our approach (and even our people) for the sake of obtaining an optimal result.
  • Professional credibility and competencies:  Multi-disciplinary skills and experience in law, accounting, finance, commerce, dispute resolution, problem solving and relationship management.
  • Personal credibility and competencies:  Extensive practical and professional experience in resolving most types of commercial, workplace and matrimonial disputes.
  • Problem solving skills:  Highly developed abilities to assess, design and apply powerful problem solving processes to complex and difficult disputes, conflicts and other challenges.
  • Professional and commercial independence:  Total independence from all major professional and commercial groups guarantees focus on client needs and very few conflicts of interest.
  • Cost effectiveness:   A constructive, “can do” attitude, combined with good people, great processes and modern business structures, provides maximum cost effectiveness:
    • Attitude – we believe that a job well done is a problem, dispute or conflict well (re)solved AND that a good solution is simply one that works well for the parties.  We have few preconceptions, our aim is to get great results through processes focused solely on client needs.
    • People – all our people, both in-house and panelists, have been carefully selected as problem solvers and dispute resolvers who can think the way we do.
    • Professional Processes – we use modern, flexible processes that are individually tailored to specific assignment needs - delivering quality results consistently, efficiently and effectively.
    • Business Structures – our modern business structures and technologies enable us to work efficiently, minimise overheads and deliver superlative services at remarkably reasonable prices.
